How to NOT get banned when requesting product reviews on Amazon using email automation. Top 10 mistakes Amazon sellers make when requesting product reviews that violate Amazon TOS terms of service.

This is a list of the top mistakes that Amazon sellers make when they are requesting product reviews from buyers on Amazon. This video will go over various actions that you cannot do with Amazon’s buyer messaging system. Violating these amazon TOS rules can result in a suspension to your seller account.

You cannot link buyers outside of Amazon’s website. Don’t try to link them to your website or sites like youtube. If you try to link them outside of Amazon, the buyer will receive a warning message letting them know they are about to get directed to an external site, which can spook your buyer and they end up closing your email. You cannot link to Amazon product listing pages or storefronts You cannot include attachments that are not necessary to complete your order Don’t attach files that have marketing material or have no relation to the product you are selling. Only include attachments that are educational or pertains to the product the customer purchased. You cannot send buyer emails with marketing or promotion content such as discounts codes or offers to buy your other products.

You cannot divert or steer your customers to a different feedback mechanism while positive reviews are sent to Amazon. Example: Please rate your experience with us 1–3 stars link them to “contact seller” while 4–5 stars link them to the product review page. You can’t offer any type of financial reward, discount, free products, or other compensation in exchange for a review.

In addition to the last step., you cannot include conditional statements when asking for a review. Example: If you had a positive or good experience with this product, could you please leave us a review. Best practice when asking for a review would just simply write: “Could you please write us a product review?”

Do not ask a buyer to revise or remove a review or offer a refund of reimbursement in exchange for this. Do not send too many emails to buyers.

Keep in mind that there is a daily cap of 5 times your average daily order volume +600 emails so it is best to keep it at 2–3 messages per order, we recommend sending 2 emails per order to prevent getting flagged by amazon for excessive emails.

Do not use the [Important] tag in your subject line to bypass the buyer-opt outs.

Amazon only permits [Important] Tag for

· Product customization questions

· Delivery scheduling

· Issues with a shipping address

Such as “If you are happy with your experience, please leave a positive review” This is considered against TOS Instead, you can say: “Thank you for your purchase. Please leave a review”

You can not ask a customer to remove their review. Instead, you can after resolving the issue, send the customer the review link without mentioning the issue being resolved. Keep it simple with “Thank you for your purchase. Please leave a review” You can not ask review groups, family members or friends to leave a review Just keep it organic because those few good reviews you receive from that process are not worth it. You cannot review your own products or your competitor’s products.

FEEDBACK

Buyers are allowed to remove their feedback within 60 calendar days from the date it was originally posted. You can request feedback from a buyer as long as you do not use conditional statements or suggestive language such as: “If you had a good experience, I would love if you leave me seller feedback” You can not pay or offer an incentive to a buyer for either providing or removing feedback. Failure to comply with the terms of service can result in cancellation of listings, suspension from use of Amazon tools and reports, and the removal of selling privileges.
